Tibetan-Canadians marked its annual Tibet Lobby Day in Ottawa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

On November 17, 2025, more than 60 Tibetan delegates from\u00a0Toronto, Alberta, Belleville, and Ottawa\u00a0travelled to Parliament Hill for\u00a0Canada Tibet Lobby Day 2025. Coming from multiple Tibetan community organizations and youth groups, they formed a united national delegation that reflected the geographical and generational diversity of Tibetan-Canadians.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Throughout the day, the delegates met with a broad cross-party group of Members of Parliament, including\u00a0Elizabeth May, Yvan Baker, Garnett Genuis, Sameer Zuberi, Michael Chong, Karim Bardeesy, James Maloney, Mona Fortier, Alexis Brunelle-Duceppe, Terry Sheehan, Ziad Aboultaif, Giovanna Mingarelli, Judy Sgro, Marcus Powlowski, and Taleeb Noormohamed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

The key ask of this year\u2019s Tibet Lobby Day was Canada\u2019s support for the proclamation of\u00a02025 as the \u201cYear of Compassion\u201d in tribute to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama\u2019s 90th birthday\u00a0and his lifelong commitment to world peace and the message of compassion. Delegates explained that such a proclamation would honour His Holiness\u2019s lifelong commitment to non-violence, peace, and interfaith harmony, while also reaffirming Canada\u2019s support for the rights and dignity of the Tibetan people.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

The event was coordinated by the\u00a0Canada Tibet Committee\u00a0in collaboration with the\u00a0Parliamentary Friends of Tibet\u00a0and a network of Tibetan organizations across Canada.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
