Canadian Senator presents notice of motion on reciprocal access to Tibet and other Tibet issues

Canada Tibet Committee, March 21, 2019 – Senator Thanh Hai Ngo presented notice of motion on Tibet in the Senate Chamber today.

The motion urges the Government of Canada to support the genuine autonomy of Tibet and calls for resumption of the Sino-Tibetan dialogue based on Middle Way Approach; respect of linguistic rights, freedom of movement, thought, conscience and religion of the people in Tibet; free all Tibetan political prisoners, and cease all arbitrary detention of dissidents; and grant Canada reciprocal diplomatic access to Tibet without limitations

On November 27, 2017, a group of five Senators including Senator Ngo launched an inquiry into the state of political prisoners of Tibet in Canadian Senate chamber. [1]
