In Ottawa, Dave held a brief press conference at the Human Rights Memorial on Elgin Street with former MP David Kilgour who has brought attention to the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The Ontario leg of the tour is dedicated to Huseyin Celil, a Canadian citizen and ethnic Uyghur — a Muslim minority group in northwestern China — who was arrested in Uzbekistan two years ago and transferred to China, where he has been accused of terrorism and sentenced to life in prison.

Peterborough, Ontario

Dave arrived home to Peterborough to see friends, family and supporters before shipping off to Toronto.

Dave arrived in Toronto at dusk for a gathering and hearty Tibetan meal. Local Tibet organizers and NDP MP Peggy Nash were present to wish Dave well on his journey.

Sault Ste. Marie

On Sunday August 3, Dave met with local Falun Gong practitioners and supporters at the Velurution bike shop in Sault Ste. Marie.

 Supporters rode with Dave along Lake Superior as part of their weekly Sunday ride.
